Today, the 16th day of the 5th month of the Tibetan Royal Year 2147, falling in the 17th sexantry of the Tibetan Royal Year calendar system, which corresponds to the 6th day of July, is an especially important day of great auspiciousness. It marks the day on which His Holiness the Great 14th Dalai Lama, the protector and refuge, bar none, of all sentient beings that include the Gods in the heavens; the master of the corpus of all the Buddhist learning on this earth; the destined deity of all sentient beings of the Snowland of Tibet; the miracle emanation in human form of the most exalted lotus-holding Bodhisattva who exemplifies the greatness of a Buddhist monk persevering in steadfast observance of all his vows as such; the one who bears great affection for all sentient beings irrespective of the absence of any prior acquaintance with them; a great champion of world peace; and the unsurpassable leader and guiding light of all subjects of Tibet whose full name, for the sake of formality, is Jetsun Jampal Ngawang Lobsang Yeshe Tenzin Gyatso Sisum Wanggyur Tsungpa Mepey-de Pel-Sangpo; and the spiritual lord of the three realms attains the age of 86 by Tibetan tradition, and 85 by the universal calendar system. On this day of perfect bliss, we, on behalf of all Tibetans in Tibet and in exile, offer greetings with unshakable devotion of body, speech, and mind to His Holiness the Dalai Lama repeated a countless times and, along with it, offer fervent prayers that His Holiness may live for a hundred aeons so as to provide us with great kindness the nectar-like teachings of clairvoyant guidance which is akin to the continuity of a summer stream at all times.

བཀའ་དྲིན་ཆེ་།།

Today, as we gather here to celebrate the 59th anniversary of the Tibetan Democracy Day, the Kashag and the Tibetan people offer our deep reverence and bow in gratitude to His Holiness the Dalai Lama, the supreme leader of Tibet, and the founder of the Tibetan Democracy.

Today is a momentous occasion marking the completion of 59 years of the

establishment of the democratic system of the Tibetan people living in exile in the

sacred land of India. To begin with, it was on the 2nd day of September in 1960 that

the members of the first Tibetan parliament in exile took their oath of office and

began to discharge their role as such. It was since that day that the noble democratic

system of Tibet became established. It was later on the 2nd day of September in 1975

that the day began to be formally observed as Tibetan Democracy Day and the

practice has remained uninterrupted ever since.

Il Primo Ministro del Governo Tibetano in Esilio, Dr. Lobsang Sangay a luglio 2019, è venuto in visita in Italia per presenziare ad alcuni eventi istituzionali.

IL suo primo intervento è stato il 7 luglio scorso, presso l’Istituto Lama Tsong Khapa di Pomaia, in occasione delle celebrazioni per l’84° Compleanno di Sua Santità il Dalai Lama, dove dopo la cerimonia di accoglienza e il pranzo ufficiale ha presenziato alla conferenza “Dal tetto del mondo al cuore dell’umanità: messaggio dal Tibet” e si è confrontato con Mr. Chimey Rigzen Rappresentante di Sua Santità il Dalai Lama per l’Europa Centrale e Orientale, Namgyal Soepa, presidente Comunità Tibetana in Italia, e con alcuni rappresentanti delle Istituzioni locali, membri della Comunità Tibetana e i Leader delle Associazioni Pro-Tibet (tra cui Marilia Bellaterra). Finita la conferenza il Dr. Lobsang Sangay ha tenuto un “discorso pubblico” e poi ha visitato la mostra fotografica dedicata al Tibet.
